Silos That Outlast What They Hold
Allied Industrial Services preserves and extends the life of dry bulk storage systems through advanced industrial coatings, tank linings, and environmental protection solutions — from abrasion-resistant interior linings to lead abatement and intumescent fireproofing.
Dry bulk storage punishes steel in a way liquid storage doesn't: every fill and discharge drags abrasive material across interior surfaces, while Gulf Coast humidity and coastal air attack the exterior. Left unprotected, that combination costs owners in wall thinning, contamination risk, and premature silo replacement.
Allied's high-performance internal linings and external coatings protect against abrasion, corrosion, and chemical exposure — improving durability and helping prevent contamination of stored materials. And for the older tanks common across the sector, our certified technicians safely remove lead-based paint and other hazardous coatings under strict EPA and OSHA regulations, preparing the structure for modern protective systems.
What We Deliver
Services for Dry Bulk Facilities
Tank & Silo Lining Systems
High-performance internal linings that protect against abrasion, corrosion, and chemical exposure — improving durability and helping prevent contamination of stored materials.
View Service → /02Exterior & Structural Coatings
External coating systems that defend silos, tanks, and supporting steel against moisture, coastal air, and atmospheric corrosion.
View Service → /03Abrasion-Resistant Rubber Linings
Elastomeric linings for the highest-wear zones — where flowing bulk material would grind through conventional coating systems.
View Service → /04Lead Abatement
Many older dry bulk tanks carry hazardous legacy coatings. Certified technicians remove lead-based paint under strict EPA and OSHA regulations — then recoat in the same mobilization.
View Service → /05Fireproofing Systems
Intumescent and cementitious fireproofing for load-bearing structures and support steel at bulk storage and handling facilities.
View Service → /06Inspection & Recoating Programs
Scheduled condition assessments and maintenance recoating that catch wall thinning and coating failure early — before they become replacement projects.

Why Bulk Storage Owners Choose Allied
Abrasion Expertise
Lining systems matched to your material's abrasiveness and flow — because cement, sand, and grain each wear steel differently.
Product Protection
Interior systems selected to protect the stored product from contamination, not just the steel from the product.
Compliance Built In
EPA- and OSHA-regulated abatement, OSHA-aligned safety protocols, and the documentation owners and auditors expect.
One Contractor, Full Scope
Abatement, prep, lining, coating, and fireproofing under one project plan — a single mobilization instead of three contractors.

Common Questions
Dry Bulk Storage FAQs
Why do dry bulk silos wear out from the inside?
Every fill and discharge drags abrasive material — cement, sand, aggregate, grain — across the interior walls, grinding away unprotected steel and standard coatings over thousands of cycles. Abrasion-resistant linings absorb that wear instead of the silo, which is why a properly lined tank dramatically outlasts a bare one.
Can a lining protect our stored product, not just the tank?
Yes — that's half the job. Interior lining systems are selected to prevent contamination of stored materials as well as to resist abrasion and corrosion, so the product that ships out is the product that came in. Tell us what you store and we'll recommend a system appropriate for it.
Our silos are decades old — could they have lead-based paint?
It's common. Many older dry bulk storage tanks contain hazardous legacy coatings, and disturbing them without certified abatement creates exposure and regulatory risk. Allied's certified technicians remove lead-based paint and other hazardous materials under strict EPA and OSHA regulations, then prepare and recoat the structure in the same project.
Does the silo need to be empty for lining work?
Interior lining and relining work requires the tank to be emptied and taken out of service, so we plan projects around your inventory cycles and schedule. Exterior coating and structural work, by contrast, can typically proceed while the silo stays in service — a phased approach can split the difference.
Do you fireproof bulk storage structures?
Yes. Allied installs intumescent and cementitious fireproofing systems on load-bearing structures and support steel at bulk storage and handling facilities, protecting the assets and the people around them.
